KJV : Psalms 81

verses:

1. Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

2. Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

3. Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

4. For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

5. This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

6. I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

7. Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

8. Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

9. There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

10. I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11. But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

12. So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

13. Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

14. I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

15. The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

16. He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

verses:

1. Au chef de choeur, sur la guitthith. D'Asaph.

2. Chantez avec allégresse vers Dieu, notre force, poussez des cris de joie vers le Dieu de Jacob!

3. Entonnez un chant, faites résonner le tambourin, la harpe mélodieuse et le luth!

4. Sonnez de la trompette au début du mois, à la pleine lune, pour le jour de notre fête!

5. En effet, c'est une prescription pour Israël, une règle pour le Dieu de Jacob.

6. Il en a fait une instruction pour Joseph, quand il s'est attaqué à l'Egypte. J'entends un langage qui m'est inconnu:

7. «J'ai déchargé son épaule du fardeau, et ses mains ont lâché la corbeille.»

8. Tu as crié dans la détresse, et je t'ai délivré; je t'ai répondu au coeur de l'orage, je t'ai mis à l'épreuve près des eaux de Meriba. Pause.

9. Ecoute, mon peuple, et je t'avertirai! Israël, si seulement tu m'écoutais!

10. Qu'il n'y ait au milieu de toi aucun autre dieu! Ne te prosterne pas devant des dieux étrangers!

11. *Je suis l'Eternel, ton Dieu, qui t'ai fait sortir d'Egypte. Ouvre ta bouche, et je la remplirai!

12. Mais mon peuple ne m'a pas écouté, Israël n'a pas voulu de moi.

13. Alors je les ai livrés aux penchants de leur coeur, et ils ont suivi leurs propres projets.

14. Si seulement mon peuple m'écoutait, si seulement Israël marchait dans mes voies!

15. En un instant j'humilierais leurs ennemis, je tournerais ma main contre leurs adversaires.

16. Ceux qui détestent l'Eternel le flatteraient, et le bonheur d'Israël durerait toujours.

17. Je le nourrirais du meilleur blé, et je le rassasierais de miel sauvage.
