Versets:

1. LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.

2. Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.

3. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.

4. Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.

5. Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?

6. Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

7. Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.

8. I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.

9. Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

10. Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

11. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

12. Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.

13. Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.

1. Dem Vorsänger. Von den Kindern Korahs. Ein Psalm. (H85-2) HERR, du warst einst gnädig deinem Land, hast das Gefängnis Jakobs gewendet,

2. (H85-3) vergabst deines Volkes Schuld, decktest alle ihre Sünden zu, (Pause)

3. (H85-4) du ließest ab von deinem Grimm, wandtest dich von deines Zornes Glut:

4. (H85-5) Stelle uns wieder her, o Gott unsres Heils, laß ab von deinem Grimm gegen uns!

5. (H85-6) Oder willst du ewig mit uns zürnen, deinen Zorn währen lassen von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht?

6. (H85-7) Willst du uns nicht wieder neu beleben, daß dein Volk sich deiner freuen kann?

7. (H85-8) HERR, laß uns deine Gnade schauen und schenke uns dein Heil!

8. (H85-9) Ich will hören, was Gott, der HERR, reden wird; denn er wird Frieden zusagen seinem Volk und seinen Frommen. Nur daß sie sich nicht wieder zur Torheit wenden!

9. (H85-10) Gewiß ist sein Heil denen nahe, die ihn fürchten, daß Herrlichkeit in unserm Lande wohne,

10. (H85-11) daß Gnade und Wahrheit einander begegnen, Gerechtigkeit und Friede sich küssen,

11. (H85-12) daß Treue aus der Erde sprieße und Gerechtigkeit vom Himmel schaue.

12. (H85-13) Der HERR wird uns auch Gutes geben, und unser Land wird seinen Ertrag abwerfen;

13. (H85-14) Gerechtigkeit wird vor ihm hergehen und ihre Füße setzen auf den Pfad.
