Versets:

1. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

2. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

3. How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

4. They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

5. My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

6. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

7. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9. Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

10. Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11. God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

12. Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

1. Dem Vorsänger. Nach Jedutun. Ein Psalm Davids. (H62-2) Nur auf Gott wartet still meine Seele, von ihm kommt mein Heil.

2. (H62-3) Nur er ist mein Fels und mein Heil, meine hohe Burg; ich werde nicht allzusehr wanken.

3. (H62-4) Wie lange laufet ihr alle Sturm gegen einen Mann und wollt ihn zertrümmern wie eine hangende Wand, eine sinkende Mauer?

4. (H62-5) Nur von seiner Höhe planen sie ihn herabzustoßen; sie haben Wohlgefallen an Lüge; mit ihrem Munde segnen sie, aber im Herzen fluchen sie. (Pause.)

5. (H62-6) Nur auf Gott wartet still meine Seele; denn von ihm kommt, was ich hoffe;

6. (H62-7) nur er ist mein Fels und mein Heil, meine hohe Burg; ich werde nicht wanken.

7. (H62-8) Auf Gott ruht mein Heil und meine Ehre; der Fels meiner Stärke, meine Zuflucht ist in Gott.

8. (H62-9) Vertraue auf ihn allezeit, o Volk, schütte dein Herz vor ihm aus! Gott ist unsre Zuflucht.

9. (H62-10) Nur ein Hauch sind die Menschenkinder, große Herren trügen auch, auf der Waage steigen sie empor, sind alle leichter als ein Hauch!

10. (H62-11) Verlasset euch nicht auf erpreßtes Gut und auf geraubtes seid nicht stolz; nimmt das Vermögen zu, so setzet euer Vertrauen nicht darauf!

11. (H62-12) Einmal hat Gott geredet, zweimal habe ich das gehört, daß die Macht Gottes sei.

12. (H62-13) Dein, o Herr, ist aber auch die Gnade; denn du bezahlst einem jeden nach seinem Tun!
