1. I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2. O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
3. O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
4. Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
5. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
6. And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.
7. LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.
8. I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.
9. What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?
10. Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.
11. Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
12. To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

2. (H30-3) HERR, mein Gott, zu dir schrie ich, und du heiltest mich.
3. (H30-4) HERR, du hast meine Seele aus dem Totenreich heraufgebracht; du hast mich am Leben erhalten, daß ich nicht zur Grube hinabfuhr.
4. (H30-5) Singet dem HERRN, ihr seine Frommen, und preiset zum Gedächtnis seiner Heiligkeit!
5. (H30-6) Denn sein Zorn währt einen Augenblick, seine Gnade aber lebenslang; am Abend kehrt das Weinen ein und am Morgen der Jubel!
6. (H30-7) Und ich sprach, da es mir wohl ging: «Ich werde nimmermehr wanken!»
7. (H30-8) Denn du, HERR, hattest durch deine Huld meinen Berg fest hingestellt; als du aber dein Angesicht verbargst, ward ich bestürzt.
8. (H30-9) Zu dir, HERR, rief ich; zu meinem HERRN flehte ich um Gnade:
9. (H30-10) «Wozu ist mein Blut gut, wenn ich in die Grube fahre? Wird dir der Staub danken und deine Treue verkündigen?
10. (H30-11) Höre, HERR, und sei mir gnädig; HERR, sei du meine Hilfe!»
11. (H30-12) Du hast mir meine Klage in einen Reigen verwandelt, du hast mein Trauergewand gelöst und mich mit Freude umgürtet;
12. (H30-13) auf daß man dir zu Ehren singe und nicht schweige; o HERR, mein Gott, ich will dich ewiglich preisen!
