1. Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
2. Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.
3. They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
4. Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
5. The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
6. I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.
7. O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
8. Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.
9. As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
10. Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
11. Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
12. I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.
13. Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

2. Ils ont pensé des maux en [leur] cœur; ils assemblent tous les jours des combats.
3. Ils affilent leur langue comme un serpent; il y a du venin de vipères sous leurs lèvres; [Sélah.]
4. Eternel, garde-moi des mains du méchant, préserve-moi de l'homme violent, de ceux qui ont machiné de me heurter pour me faire tomber.
5. Les orgueilleux m'ont caché le piège, et ils ont tendu [avec] des cordes un rets à l'endroit de mon passage, ils ont mis des trébuchets [pour me prendre]; [Sélah.]
6. J'ai dit à l'Eternel : tu es mon [Dieu] Fort; Eternel! prête l'oreille à la voix de mes supplications.
7. Ô Eternel! Seigneur! la force de mon salut, tu as couvert de toutes parts ma tête au jour de la bataille.
8. Eternel n'accorde point au méchant ses souhaits; ne fais point que sa pensée ait son effet, ils s'élèveraient. [Sélah.]
9. Quant aux principaux de ceux qui m'assiégent, que la peine de leurs lèvres les couvre.
10. Que des charbons embrasés tombent sur eux, qu'il les fasse tomber au feu, et dans des fosses profondes, sans qu'ils se relèvent.
11. Que l'homme médisant ne soit point affermi en la terre; [et] quant à l'homme violent et mauvais, qu'on chasse après lui jusqu’à ce qu'il soit exterminé.
12. Je sais que l'Eternel fera justice à l'affligé, [et] droit aux misérables.
13. Quoi qu'il en soit, les justes célébreront ton Nom, [et] les hommes droits habiteront devant ta face.
