1. And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
2. And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
3. Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
4. And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.
5. And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the LORD stood by.
6. And the angel of the LORD protested unto Joshua, saying,
7. Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.
8. Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.
9. For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
10. In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.
1. Il m'a fait voir le grand-prêtre Josué, debout devant l'ange de l'Eternel, et Satan qui se tenait à sa droite pour l'accuser.
2. L'Eternel a dit à Satan: «Que l'Eternel te réduise au silence, Satan, que l'Eternel te réduise au silence, lui qui a choisi Jérusalem! Celui-ci n'est-il pas un bout de bois arraché au feu?»
3. Or Josué portait des habits sales et se tenait debout devant l'ange.
4. L'ange a pris la parole et a dit à ceux qui se tenaient devant lui: «Enlevez-lui les habits sales!» Puis il a dit à Josué: «Regarde, je t'enlève ta faute et je te mets des habits de fête.»
5. J'ai dit: «Qu'on mette sur sa tête un turban pur!» Ils ont placé un turban pur sur sa tête et lui ont mis des habits. L'ange de l'Eternel était là.
6. L'ange de l'Eternel a fait cette déclaration à Josué:
7. «Voici ce que dit l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers: Si tu marches dans mes voies et si tu respectes mes ordres, tu jugeras ma maison, tu garderas mes parvis et je te donnerai libre accès parmi ceux qui sont ici.
8. Ecoute donc, Josué, grand-prêtre, toi et tes compagnons qui sont assis devant toi, car ce sont des hommes qui serviront de signes. Je ferai venir mon serviteur, le germe.
9. En effet, voici la pierre que j'ai placée devant Josué: il y a sept yeux sur cette seule pierre. Je graverai moi-même ce qui doit y être gravé, déclare l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers, et j'enlèverai la faute de ce pays en un jour.
10. Ce jour-là, déclare l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers, vous vous inviterez les uns les autres au milieu des vignes et des figuiers.»
