1. Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?
2. Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.
3. The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.
4. Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;
5. Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.
6. Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.
7. Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.
8. As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.
9. Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.
10. The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
11. So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

2. Au contraire, vous tramez des injustices dans votre cœur; vous balancez la violence de vos mains en la terre.
3. Les méchants se sont égarés dès la matrice, ils ont erré dès le ventre [de leur mère], en parlant faussement.
4. Ils ont un venin semblable au venin du serpent, [et] ils sont comme l'aspic sourd, qui bouche son oreille;
5. Qui n'écoute point la voix des enchanteurs, [la voix] du charmeur fort expert en charmes.
6. Ô Dieu, brise-leur les dents dans leur bouche! Eternel, romps les dents mâchelières des lionceaux.
7. Qu'ils s'écoulent comme de l'eau, et qu'ils se fondent! que [chacun d'eux] bande [son arc, mais] que ses flèches soient comme si elles étaient rompues!
8. Qu'il s'en aille comme un limaçon qui se fond! qu'ils ne voient point le soleil non plus que l'avorton d'une femme!
9. Avant que vos chaudières aient senti le feu des épines, l'ardeur de la colère, semblable à un tourbillon, enlèvera [chacun d'eux] comme de la chair crue.
10. Le juste se réjouira quand il aura vu la vengeance; il lavera ses pieds au sang du méchant.
11. Et chacun dira : quoi qu'il en soit, il y a une récompense pour le juste; quoi qu'il en soit, il y a un Dieu qui juge en la terre.
