Sermon Series : 1st Peter
It is through Silvanus, who in my eyes is a faithful brother, that I have written you these few words to encourage you and to attest to you that it is indeed to the true grace of God that you are attached.
This epistle is precious in times of suffering because it reminds us that the people of God, a minority in our society and misunderstood in their life choices, are frequently stigmatized because they attach themselves primarily to Jesus. These delicate situations are ultimately an opportunity to demonstrate, as Jesus did, what the love of God is, to people who reject believers.
The sermon series is given by pastor Patrice Berger. sermons are translated from the originl French version. Bible verses link to the Bible in Basic English. The Bible is available online in audio/podcast form in several versions including the Bible in Basic English (1 year reading plan):
1st Peter #8: Encourage each other by leaning on Christ
We can wish each other many good things, but in reality, they are only wishes. It is different when we lean on Christ to wish them. As in many end of epistles, we find here encouragement for our daily life.
1st Peter #7: Church leaders are shepherds, not herders
Just as modern shepherds eventually became industrial herders away from their flocks, most of the time, so could local church leaders who could learn from management methods. The apostle recalls here some much more useful advice, he who was an elder in the Church and who was commissioned by the risen Jesus.
1st Peter #6: The example of Christ helps me have an attitude in life that honors Him
The believer's life testimony sets him apart positively. However, he may be the object of sarcasm or harassment. Even under these difficult conditions, endurance to do good, with the help of God, is a testimony that aims for the long term by accumulating a weight of irrefutable goodness in the eyes of the skeptics.
1st Peter #5: A couple in tune brings glory to God
When God thinks of the couple (of which He is the Creator), He thinks of something perfect, which we, fallen creatures, can experience if we attach ourselves to Him to live it on a daily basis, by taking the right information in the Bible.
1st Peter #4: Exemplary
From incarceration for complicity with the enemy, with the penalty of sin and death, the believer through Christ finds himself exfiltrated from this destiny to become part of the lineage of the greatest Sovereign. Zero deserves, just a real understanding of his condition and the need for Christ as Lord and Savior of his life. Jesus activates this rescue and this transfer by the faith of each person who gives his life to Him. This is not a tale, but a certified reality.
1st Peter #3: Precious Christ?

1st Peter #2: The redeemed are privileged
From incarceration for complicity with the enemy, with the penalty of sin and death, the believer through Christ finds himself exfiltrated from this destiny to become part of the lineage of the greatest Sovereign. Zero deserves, just a real understanding of his condition and the need for Christ as Lord and Savior of his life. Jesus activates this rescue and this transfer by the faith of each person who gives his life to Him. This is not a tale, but a certified reality.
1st Peter #1: Elected to an earthly term
It is truly precious that God reminds us through the writing of the apostle Peter that the redeemed by Christ, whom God has acquired, are transient guests. Their homeland is that of God. And this has immediate consequences in everyday life. The investment here below is not the one that will remain. Let us imitate Jesus who perfectly knew how to live usefully in society knowing that the most important thing was heavenly
