  • Revelation #13b : The 1,000 Year Reign – Revelation 20 : Even before distinguishing the various schools of thought, it is worth quoting in full certain warnings written by Frédéric Buhler already more than fifty years ago: No prophetic view is entirely immune to objections. None agrees perfectly with all the biblical texts. One could even believe that there is a providential intention in the imprecision of certain teachings. If certain future events are well attested by the Scriptures (corporeal and glorious return of Christ, resurrection of the dead, removal of resurrected or transformed believers, final judgment, destruction of the earth with the works it contains, appearance of a new earth and new heavens where justice will dwell), the sequence of events is not given to us with enough precision to enable us to establish a detailed and rigid program. • KJV summary for : Book of Revelation 20

Summary: Revelation chapter 20 describes significant events concerning the final judgment and the establishment of God's kingdom. The chapter opens with an angel descending from heaven, binding Satan for a thousand years, ensuring that he cannot deceive the nations during this period. This is followed by the resurrection of the martyrs who reign with Christ for the duration of this millennium, symbolizing hope and vindication for those who have suffered for their faith. After the thousand years, Satan is released for a short time, during which he gathers the nations for a final rebellion against God's people. However, this rebellion is swiftly quelled by divine intervention, leading to Satan's ultimate defeat and eternal punishment in the lake of fire. The chapter concludes with the Great White Throne judgment, where the dead are resurrected, and each person is judged according to their deeds. Those whose names are not recorded in the Book of Life are also cast into the lake of fire, emphasizing themes of justice, accountability, and the eternal consequences of one's choices. Overall, Revelation 20 underscores the triumph of God over evil and the hope of eternal life for believers.
