He wanted to make the Bible accessible to people with limited English, those learning it as a second language, and those with low literacy. To achieve this, he used a simplified vocabulary of just 850 common words, with minimal grammar. This made the text easier to understand, though some argue it loses some of the poetry and nuance of the original. Despite this, it has been praised for its clarity and continues to be used today by many, particularly in education and evangelism. Lausanne-Renens AB church wishes you a good Bible reading!

  • Psalm 22, Psalm 23, Psalm 34: Jesus crucified, Jesus resurrected, Jesus King of glory : Yesterday, Jesus crucified Today, Jesus risen Eternally, Jesus King of gloryYesterday, Jesus Crucified: Psalm 22 The story of the crucifixion, we find it in the Gospels: For example in the Gospel according to Mark: 29). But, we find this prophetic announcement in several Psalms, in the books of Isaiah, Zechariah among others. David's Psalm 22 evokes very specific facts: Psalm 22: 7-9 But I am a worm and not a man, the shame of humanity, the one whom the people despise. Everyone who sees me laughs at me, they sneer, they shake their heads: “Commission your fate to the Lord! The Lord will save him, he will deliver him, since he loves him!”
