Sermons: key points from the series Jonah

“Indeed, I knew that you are a God of grace and compassion, slow to anger and rich in goodness, and who regrets the evil you send.
The Lord answered, “Do you do well to be angry?”
Jonah 4. 2 & 4
Listening is at the heart of the book of the prophet Jonah. Jonah does not listen to God. He does the opposite. Despite this, God listens to Jonah’s prayer. Jonah’s enemies listen to him and come to God. And us, where are we in terms of listening? Will we be attentive to God’s plans, even if they go against our ready-made ideas? Or will we be stubborn, angry, in the claim vis-à-vis God, because the reality does not correspond to what we had imagined?
The key points below were extracted from a sermon series given at the AB Renens Church , topic: Jonah
