Sermon Series: Joel
Joel
The book of Joel is a short prophetic book of the Old Testament, consisting of only three chapters. However, it carries a powerful and timeless message about judgment, repentance, and restoration. The prophet Joel uses the image of a devastating locust invasion to illustrate the Day of the Lord, a time of divine judgment. In this context, Joel calls the people of Judah to sincere repentance, emphasizing that returning to God will bring mercy and renewed blessings. He also prophesies about the outpouring of God's Spirit on all flesh, a prophecy quoted by the Apostle Peter in the New Testament during Pentecost (Acts 2:16-21 ). The book of Joel reminds us of the importance of recognizing our wrong ways, seeking God with a contrite heart, and believing in His promise of restoration and blessing for those who turn to Him.
