Bible Study: The Bible Red Thread
The following set of studies is translated from the French online magazine TaJeunesse (literllay “Your Youth”), a popular Christian French publication available online or in paper form. This set of studies takes the reader through the Bible by highlighting how the various stories starting from Genesis 1 up to and including Revelation 22 are all deeply linked by a “Red Thread”, highlighted by the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ during the New Testament Gospels, but starting at the creation in Genesis 1 and ending with the triumphal return of Jesus in the book of Revelation. As such this study is an excellent summary of the most important texts in the Bible’s 66 chapters. The following study is translated from the original series in French “Le Fil rouge de La Bible” available on our website.

Matthew 24 / Darby 1. And Jesus went forth and went away from the temple, and his disciples came to [him] to point out to him the buildings of the temple. 2. And he answering said to them, Do ye not see all these things? Verily I say to you, Not a stone shall be left here upon a stone which shall not be thrown down. 3. And as he was sitting upon the mount of Olives the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be, and what is the sign of thy coming and [the] completion of the age? 4. And Jesus answering said to them, See that no one mislead you. 5. For many shall come in my name, saying, *I* am the Christ, and they shall mislead many.

Bible Red Thread 11d: The Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth (Matthew 28)
Seeds die to give life to a beautiful plant or tree. With the resurrection of Jesus, the consequences are far greater. Despite the odds, Jesus resurrects and God's rescue plan is finally achieved.
Red Thread of the Bible 11c: The death of Jesus of Nazareth (Matthew 26)
The opponents of Jesus thought to finish him off by putting him to death. Did they achieve it? His disciples also want to save their life. What is the significance of Jesus's death?
Red Thread of the Bible 11b: The life of Jesus of Nazareth (Matthew 1 – 3)
We can form an opinion about a person by observing his life. It's good that the first 4 Gospels of the New Testament tell us about the life of Jesus, seen by his friends as well as by his opponents.
Bible Red Thread 11a: Jesus of Nazareth His Birth (John 1)
Did you realize that the birth of Jesus has no equal and will never have? This is certainly why part of humanity celebrates Jesus's birthday (at Christmas)! He is the hope of man, and the lamb of God that plays a unique role in the history of man.
Bible Red Thread 10: A New Kingdom (Daniel 2 and 7)
A dream that implies change in everything was revealed centuries before our era. The world is dominated by the immense Babylonian empire, headed by the great Nebuchadnezzar, sponsor of the famous Hanging Gardens. In the second year of his reign, this almighty monarch is troubled by a dream,
Bible Red Thread 9: An Announced Rescue (Jeremiah 11, Jeremiah 31 and Isaiah 53)
An announced rescue. Unfortunately, there arose new generations of leaders who were more obsessed with power, money, and sex, than with their allegiance to God and their mission to lead his people. These evil leaders turned God's people away, who quickly forgot their commitments and then repeatedly violated the terms of the covenant. God then raised up messengers as "reminders" for his people.
Bible Red Thread 8: A Leader After God’s Heart (1 Samuel 16, 2 Samuel 7)
Beyond a leader's abilities, the most decisive factor to consider is the attitude of the leader. Generally, when the leader departs from God, the people do the same; and conversely, when the leader is submitted to God, the people respect the covenant he has made with God. However, even good leaders have weaknesses.
Bible Red Thread 7: A Code of Good Conduct (Exodus 19-20)
A renewed hope: Having freed his people in an extraordinary way from immutable slavery, God offers them something unimaginable: a covenant. After the Israelites left their homes to seek God, He now wants to dwell in the midst of his people.
Bible Red Thread 6: A Liberation from Bondage (Exodus 1-15)
Good resolutions are not enough: Since Abraham, we know that God proposes the restoration of man's broken relationship with Him. As long as man decides to trust God. Simple, right? But, unlike God – who has been faithful to mankind since the beginning of recorded history – mankind seems to have a serious problem.
Bible Red Thread 5: A Trusting Man (Genesis 11-22)
The masterful blow of the flood did not ultimately change anything. The episode of the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11 demonstrates that the problem of sin is much more serious than one could imagine. Mankind's arrogance toward their Creator justifies a radically new intervention by God.
Bible Red Thread 4: A New Beginning (Genesis 6-9)
Once sin is introduced into humanity, evil will spread like wildfire. From the heart of Adam and Eve, sin will successively corrupt relationships from the couple to the whole society, nature inclusive.
Bible Red Thread 3: A Broken Relationship (Genesis 3 & 4)
An intruder enters the scene. This suspicious being has all the trappings of an intruder, and to avoid being unmasked on the spot, he strikes up a conversation with the least experienced person in all of creation.
Bible Red Thread 2: Man in God’s Plan
Bible Red Thread 2: Man in God's Plan Is it possible to understand the meaning and purpose of life without having read the first 2 chapters of Genesis? In the Beginning The Bible begins with the book of Genesis, which literally means “in the beginning."
