Summary: 2 Chronicles Chapter 26 recounts the reign of King Uzziah (also known as Azariah), who ascended to the throne of Judah at the age of 16. His reign is marked by a strong emphasis on seeking God, particularly during the guidance of the prophet Zechariah, and as long as he sought the Lord, God greatly prospered him. However, the chapter also addresses the dangers of pride, as Uzziah’s successes eventually led to his downfall. In his hubris, Uzziah entered the temple to burn incense, an act strictly reserved for the priests. This resulted in him being confronted by the priest Azariah and, when he persisted, he was struck with leprosy, which led to his isolation until his death.
