1. Thou also[H1121], son of man[H120], take[H3947] thee a tile[H3843], and lay[H5414] it before[H6440] thee[H2710], and portray upon it a city[H5892], even Jerusalem[H3389]:

2. and lay[H5414] siege[H4692] against it[H1129], and build forts[H1785] against it[H8210], and cast up a mound[H5550] against it[H5414]; set camps[H4264] also against it[H7760], and plant battering rams[H3733] against it round about[H5439].

3. And take[H3947] thou unto thee an iron[H1270] pan[H4227], and set[H5414] it for a wall[H7023] of iron[H1270] between thee and the city[H5892]: and set[H3559] thy face[H6440] toward it[H4692], and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege[H6696] against it[H226]. This shall be a sign to the house[H1004] of Israel[H3478].

4. Moreover lie[H7901] thou upon thy left[H8042] side[H6654], and lay[H7760] the iniquity[H5771] of the house[H1004] of Israel[H3478] upon it[H4557]; according to the number of the days[H3117] that thou shalt lie[H7901] upon it[H5375], thou shalt bear their iniquity[H5771].

5. For I have appointed[H5414] the years[H8141] of their iniquity[H5771] to be unto thee a number[H4557] of days[H3117], even three[H7969] hundred[H3967] and ninety[H8673] days[H3117]: so shalt thou bear[H5375] the iniquity[H5771] of the house[H1004] of Israel[H3478].

6. And again[H8145], when thou hast accomplished[H3615] these[H428], thou shalt lie[H7901] on thy right[H3233] side[H6654], and shalt bear[H5375] the iniquity[H5771] of the house[H1004] of Judah[H3063]: forty[H705] days[H3117], each day[H3117] for a year[H8141], have I appointed it unto thee[H5414].

7. And thou shalt set[H3559] thy face[H6440] toward the siege[H4692] of Jerusalem[H3389], with thine arm[H2220] uncovered[H2834]; and thou shalt prophesy against it[H5012].

8. And[H5414], behold, I lay bands[H5688] upon thee[H2015], and thou shalt not turn thee from one side[H6654] to the other[H6654], till thou hast accomplished[H3615] the days[H3117] of thy siege[H4692].

9. Take[H3947] thou also unto thee wheat[H2406], and barley[H8184], and beans[H6321], and lentils[H5742], and millet[H1764], and spelt[H3698], and put[H5414] them in one[H259] vessel[H3627], and make[H6213] thee bread[H3899] thereof[H4557]; according to the number of the days[H3117] that thou shalt lie[H7901] upon thy side[H6654], even three[H7969] hundred[H3967] and ninety[H8673] days[H3117], shalt thou eat thereof[H398].

10. And thy food[H3978] which thou shalt eat[H398] shall be by weight[H4946], twenty[H6242] shekels[H8255] a day[H3117]: from time[H6256] to time[H6256] shalt thou eat it[H398].

11. And thou shalt drink[H8354] water[H4325] by measure[H4884], the sixth part[H8345] of a hin[H1969]: from time[H6256] to time[H6256] shalt thou drink[H8354].

12. And thou shalt eat[H398] it as barley[H8184] cakes[H5692], and thou shalt bake[H5746] it in their sight[H5869] with dung[H1561] that cometh out[H6627] of man[H120].

13. And Jehovah[H3068] said[H559], Even thus shall the children[H1121] of Israel[H3478] eat[H398] their bread[H3899] unclean[H2931], among the nations[H1471] whither I will drive them[H5080].

14. Then said[H559] I[H162], Ah Lord[H136] Jehovah[H3069]! behold[H5315], my soul hath not been polluted[H2930]; for from my youth[H5271] up even till now have I not eaten[H398] of that which dieth of itself[H5038], or is torn[H2966] of beasts[H935]; neither came there abominable[H6292] flesh[H1320] into my mouth[H6310].

15. Then he said[H559] unto me[H7200], See, I have given[H5414] thee cow[H1241]'s dung[H6832] for man[H120]'s dung[H1561], and thou shalt prepare[H6213] thy bread thereon[H3899].

16. Moreover he said[H559] unto me[H1121], Son of man[H120], behold[H7665], I will break the staff[H4294] of bread[H3899] in Jerusalem[H3389]: and they shall eat[H398] bread[H3899] by weight[H4948], and with fearfulness[H1674]; and they shall drink[H8354] water[H4325] by measure[H4884], and in dismay[H8078]:

17. that they may want[H2637] bread[H3899] and water[H4325], and be dismayed[H8074] one[H376] with another[H251], and pine away[H4743] in their iniquity[H5771].
