1. For the Chief Musician; set to the Sheminith. A Psalm of David. Help[H3467], Jehovah[H3068]; For the godly man[H120] ceaseth[H1584]; For the faithful[H539] fail[H6461] from among the children[H1121] of men[H120].

2. They speak[H1696] falsehood[H7723] every one[H376] with his neighbor[H7453]: With flattering[H2513] lip[H8193], and with a double[H3820] heart[H3820], do they speak[H1696].

3. Jehovah[H3068] will cut off[H3772] all flattering[H2513] lips[H8193], The tongue[H3956] that speaketh[H1696] great things[H1419];

4. Who have said[H559], With our tongue[H3956] will we prevail[H1396]; Our lips[H8193] are our own[H113]: Who is lord over us?
