KidsTeam Lausanne-Renens Winter Event: “The Lake Navigators in Winter”
KidsTeam Lausanne-Renens invites you to our grand winter gathering on February 22! This winter, embark on an exciting and inspiring adventure with us under the theme “The Lake Navigators.” Based on the biblical story from Mark 4:35-40 , we will explore together how to face life’s storms with faith and confidence, even in the heart of winter.
Winter on the Lake: Calm and Discovery
The theme “The Lake Navigators in Winter” encourages children to imagine a quiet, icy lake in winter, symbolizing a serene yet challenging journey. Even in winter, storms can rise unexpectedly, reminding us that challenges and fears are present in every season of life. During this event, children will learn about the story of Jesus calming the storm, where He said, “Peace, be still!” This theme aims to teach children how faith can help them face their fears, with the biblical story serving as a metaphor for navigating through life’s challenges.
A Winter Sailboat: Symbolizing the Lake Navigators
The image of a sailboat on a frozen lake represents the heart of the KidsTeam Lausanne-Renens winter theme. This sailboat is a symbol of resilience and readiness, reminding children of the inner strength they can find through faith to sail through life’s “winter” storms.
Indoor Games: Shelter from the Storm
Winter weather can be too cold for outdoor play, but that won’t stop the fun! The event includes carefully designed indoor games and crafts, ensuring an engaging time for everyone. These activities allow children to channel their energy and creativity while reinforcing the day’s themes in a playful way.
Biblical Story Workshops: Learning and Reflection
A core part of every KidsTeam Lausanne-Renens gathering is the biblical story workshop. This winter, children will engage with the story from Mark 4:35-40 , where Jesus calms the storm, in an interactive and personal way. In this workshop, children will listen to and meditate on this passage, discovering its deeper meanings and how it applies to their lives.
To make the experience even more captivating, we will use puppets and props to bring the story to life. Through these visuals, children can ask questions, share their impressions, and explore together what it means to have faith, even when everything around seems to be falling apart. This workshop aims to build children’s confidence in facing their fears with faith and provides practical tools for handling challenges.
4 PM Snack Time: A Warm and Welcoming Break
After an intense lineup of activities, nothing beats a cozy snack break! At 4 PM, children will enjoy pastries, cookies, and warm drinks. This shared break is always a favorite part of the event, as it gives children a chance to bond, discuss what they’ve learned, and connect with fellow “navigators of the lake.”
KidsTeam Lausanne-Renens looks forward to welcoming you on February 22 for this unique winter adventure! “The Lake Navigators in Winter” is more than just a gathering; it’s a chance for every child to grow in faith, develop their skills, and feel supported in their life journey. Through puppets, games, and creative workshops, each child will leave with newfound confidence in their ability to navigate life’s storms.
